WMG Holiday Party

Every year Westmore Group has an annual holiday party for the builders and employees.

Follow the theme from an example of the party decoration and create a digital invitation
as well as a matching name tag

Sample Decor/Colors

Each year I would be given either colors or a sample idea of the decorations and tasked at matching the invitation to the decor.

2018 Martini Glass

2019 Rustic Lantern, Eucalyptus and Red Plaid

2021 Wooden Centerpieces with Red and Green

02

Create Background

For these invitations I start with the background as a base before working on design and typography.

2018: I wanted a black background and immediately thought of a chalkboard.

2019: The lantern and plaid led me to thinking rustic.

2021: I had a hard time picking this it led to many tries before landing on an outdoor winter scene.

03

Design in Illustrator

This is what takes the most time and has the most discarded ideas. Designing the invitations involves creating images and colors that make the invitation interesting. A lot of time is spent placing and replacing images once they are created. I always show this to the client before moving on.

2018: Martini glass and red ribbons.

2019: Played around with location of images a lot.

2021: This one I was not excited about my execution as I thought it wasn't upscale enough but the client wanted playful after 2020.

Typography and Nametags

As much as I love designing, typography is so much fun for me. I love choosing fonts and colors and placements. I also made matching name tags.

2018: Bold

2019: Rustic and Cool

2021: Straightforward and Simple
