5th Grade Cookbook
This project was a donation for each of the 5th grade students and their teachers at Shenandoah Valley Elementary School as a keepsake. This cookbook shows each student's personalities and family cultures.

01
Get Student Recipes
Each 5th grade student and teacher were instructed to email or send a print out or handwritten favorite family recipe. There were no other parameters as it would allow each student to be as elaborate or simple as they wanted.
02
Sorting and Filing
This project required extreme organization in order to organize the emailed vs physical recipes received, as they were received randomly over a couple of weeks.
I also searched for images for many of the recipes.

03
Layout and Design
To design a cookbook with digital and scanned items of different sizes proved to be a challenge, I also added images to many of the recipes. Order, Design, layout and font selection was very important.
04
Finishing and Printing
Originally only one copy was going to be printed as an item for the school auction. However, many parents reached out that they would like the option to purchase a copy as well. I planned on creating digital copies, but decided to print one for each 5th grader and their teachers and to simply donate them.
